Some of My Work

Every role, project and team has taught me something about business, innovation, brand management and leadership.

The “what” is as important to me as the “how”. These are the highlights.

Starbucks

Working on a business with +8,500 company owned retail locations has taught me how critical it is to balance business, customer and store partner needs. I’ve learned how to define and solve real customer problems and generate plans that can be loved and executed at scale. I’ve learned how to identify a product’s “job” in the portfolio and make product decisions across a 24-36 month horizon based on a variety of business and operational metrics.

Driving growth on, and building relevancy for, America’s 2nd largest beer brand when +4 new challenger brands launch every day taught me how to unpack a product and brand’s most meaningful differentiating attributes and transform them into compelling and hard hitting marketing activations that drive sales for a variety of retailers, including distributors, retailers and shareholders. I learned how to inspire creative agencies to deliver their best work without compromising the brand identity and principles.

Leadership

I’ve worked on different businesses with different needs. The one constant in each role is my passion for developing and leading teams. It is what gets me out of bed every morning. It is what I think about on the weekends. Bringing the most out of my people and helping them reach new levels is my hardest job and my most rewarding job. Much of what I’ve learned about courageous leadership and deep care came from my time teaching high school and through my work developing partner programs at Starbucks.
